Fight Night, This Blog, and Genesis Arts Night

Early this morning I updated TheFightNight.org with new session articles and audio from last week’s session. The discussion board was also updated to include an older session topic which I forgot to add (sorry Ryan).

Additionally, I think I’ve gotten this blog to the point which I want it for now. The design will need to be changed, although it looks ok for now. We just can’t have the default design though. That’s too generic. But I think I’ll leave the plugins alone. I wouldn’t mind adding the weather icon, but really, who cares? It’s not really worth my time.

Genesis Arts Night was last night, and I read Romans 8 and 16 aloud for the community. It was relatively easy since I’m used to speaking in front of crowds, and in combo with the music and art that was being displayed on the screen, made for an artistic presentation in itself. However, if the purpose was to be a format in which artists (of whatever medium) could produce art, I think it missed its goal. I’d maybe recommend figuring out what the purpose of the night is and try to accomplish that one goal rather than trying to accomplish two goals and having some of the community missing both. Gensis attempts to be all encompassing in terms of the medium of art in which people work, but it’s difficult (if not impossible) to put together a collaborative evening in which all people will be motivated to produce. Production of some types of art is difficult to be motivated by an artistic environment. I find that the production of my own art mediums are best accomplished either spontaneously or in a natural environment. Maybe that’s just my own laziness, but I think I can speak for many artists that manifestation of art is diffult to produce on demand.
