MoPhoblogging from my Treo 650 and SprintPCS PictureMail (Sprint Picture Mail)My new Treo 650 + SprintPCS PictureShare MoPhoBlogging scripts are working great! The only thing I have left to make work is the emailer. The scoop is that I used Pug’s wp-mail, and the SprintPhoto v.0.2.2 plugin along with the default Post By Mail preferences in WordPress 1.5. I modified Pug’s wp-mail even more than Pug did, adding functionality for my preferred way to send photos from the Treo 650… through the messenger rather than VersaMail. I also added a category called MoPho Posts (for Mobile Phone/Photograph Posts) and made it the default category for the post. I also added a function that creates a thumbnail image and uses that in the post with a link to the original so that I could keep the bandwidth down and size it properly for my design(s).

Now, the only thing left to do on it is get the email part working. I am writing in a function to check for an email address in {} brackets at the beginning of the message and have the script email the person in the address with a particular message (just like the sprintPCS message you get that says “You have received PictureMail!” except it will be my own customized html email that looks much smoother.

If you want the modified scripts I have, feel free to ask. I might post them when I’m done messing around with them.

I also added the FeedWordPress plugin and am now syndicating CEOJellybarn.com.. just in case he actually does update it sometime.

Last and least, I still haven’t figured out the paragraph break problem. So, this post will probably look crappy.. but whatever. I’ll get to that shortly.

I’d be interested in seeing the modified script when you’ve got it tweaked the way you like it. :)

You got it. I’ll be working on it a little today, so we’ll see what I can get done. Thanks for being interested!

Well, I’ve obviously got the script working properly now.. but unfortunately I’m unable to release the script quite yet. I’ve got some people interested in it for development beyond WP. If possible, I’ll release it later.

    Thanks for your interest.
