Seth vs. Seth = Schitzo?

Ok, I’m confused. Seth Godin today implied that we shouldn’t rely on the technology (namely search engines) we currently have at our disposal (please correct me if I’m missing the point). However, recently, he’s also mentioned and encouraged the creation of an ISBN driven bibliography site because “how do you take a system filled with an inefficient, annoying, time-consuming, wasteful and yes, even stupid task and make it better in a way that serves all sides?”

Conflict?

no, I wasn’t implying that we shouldn’t depend on this

I was saying that we DO depend on it, so if you are giving your users a chance to search, or to do anything related to technology, better expect that they’re counting on you to be as smart as the smartest tool they’ve ever used.

    Seth,

Thank you for commenting! I’m stoked that you took the time and I apologize for misreading your posts. Thanks for taking the time to clarify.

I fully agree, now that I know your point. If you’re not giving them what they expect (or even more), then you’ve got a strike against you.

    Again, thanks for commenting..

    SETH GODIN everyone!!!

Got something to say? Go for it!
