Who would have thought that I, of all people, would think a semi-governmental organization is actually cool? Not me.
Today changed my perception. I knew they were getting pretty crazy with internet tools and whatnot, but I didn’t realize they had a set of API’s for use.
No more downloading zip code databases. No more worries whether or not those databases are current or not. Just use the USPS Zip Code API. Simple, sweet RESTfull APIs. Mmmmm. Delicious.
More on the service I’m building later. Sorry that I didn’t preview it earlier, but the thought came to me at about 1am last night. It’s gonna be small and simple, but hopefully have some long lasting effects.

According to this digg story, broadband customers of Australia’s largest ISPs can use peer-to-peer file-sharing services such as BitTorrent and Kazaa without being throttled by their ISP, at least for now.
Unfortunately, my ISP is evil. They throttle BitTorrent even though I had a bunch of really long conversations. If you want BitTorrent or [...]

Thursday night, while chatting with some friends, our converstation ventured into the arena of evangelism, humanitarian actions, and other social and theological issues. We eventually found ourselves in a passionate dialogue about the needs of our neighbors. Since we’re able to connect/communicate with anyone in the world within an instant, that pretty [...]

TextPayMe is the cell-phone version of PayPal. Recently written up in Wired, the service probably has PayPal hot on its heals. Talk about a new and compelling service! Instead of using an email address to pay someone, just use the phone number.
Sounds like a revolutionary business to me. I can see this one [...]

If you thought coders were weird… you’d be right. Check this little ditty and you’ll have your confirmation that although some people do drugs, others shave yaks.
