New Page: Q&A

LightbulbI read emails, RSS feeds (don’t worry, that acronym is the most techie I’m getting in this post), and other people’s blogs trying to think of decent content to write about. Then, I thought, what the crap? Why does it have to be one-way communication? Because that’s what a blog is for? Says who?

Enter the sparkly new Q&A page. I am hoping we can start talking a little more - you and I. So, why don’t you ask me a question? I don’t know that I can answer everything asked. Nor do I know if everything asked will be appropriate. But, for the sake of risking those things for a little conversation, let’s talk.

Go ahead, ask me a question. Anything really. It would be nice if we stayed within the theme of this blog, but whatever. Just start talking/asking.

Bookmark: How to Fund a Startup

I have to put this somewhere I’ll remember it. Oh, I know! How about my blog. That way, I’ll never lose it.
The first part is a little dry, but once you get to the actual how-to, it gets interesting. Ok, interesting for me. Maybe not interesting for you.
Here’s a [...]

Lets Play Fantasy Startup!

As I mentioned before, Paul Graham, like many others, believes the team on a startup is an extremely good predictor of how successful the company will be. He uses the rowing-a-boat metaphor. A big boat (read:company) with 1000 workers is likely to have an average speed at which it rows. But, a [...]

Are you an animal?

Recently (today) I began reading Paul Graham’s stuff. I don’t know why it took me so long to find this guy, but he’s brilliant. I’ve added him to my Readable page.
While reading his article “How to Start a Startup,” I noticed a similar trend to the teachings of Guy Kawasaki and Joel Kurtzman [...]

How to start a blog network (first of a series)

So, to be honest, I have no idea how to start a blog network. But, I am going to try. I’ll be documenting the attempt here at my blog.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this and came to the conclusion a few months ago that starting a blog network is all [...]

To Adsense or not to Adsense. That is the question (again).

After an almost unanimous uproar (if I can call it that) about thinking about putting Adsense back into my blog, I’ve thought of an alternative solution today, and I’d like your feedback on it.
I’ve read throughout the “blogosphere” the pros and cons to advertising on our blogs. Most people for it are so because [...]

Facebook: $2B Acquisition?

Wow, and I thought I’d never see the day when a seemingly small site/business got more than MySpace did.
$2 billion! That’s the supposed number that the founder, Mark Zuckerberg, and his cohorts are holding out for. They already surpassed MySpace in just the dollar figure they have already been offered ($750M). [...]

Duh Gallery: The Simple WordPress Photo Gallery Plugin

I have been looking for a simple plugin for WordPress that just displays photos that I upload. I got tired of trying out things like Gallery2 integration and stuff like that. I just wanted a simple photo gallery. No extra text, no comments, nothing. Just a photo gallery.
So, I created it [...]
