If you’re in the area (”area” being San Diego) this weekend (June 2nd and 3rd), you should stop by BarCamp.
Ted is helping organize it, and guess what he’s in charge of? Yea, the beer. If nothing else, I suggest you go for the beer and interesting people. But, if you’re interested in anything else (and I mean anything), you should go for a visit. There’s more than beer there.

I think it’s safe to say BarCamp is unlike any conference you’ve ever been to. It’s more like a house party full of geeks, each of whom gets the spotlight for 30 minutes.
Sometimes the talks are geared towards developers, but not always. At BarCampLA I did a talk on yoga for desk workers. This time I’m probably going to do something about digital photography. My girlfriend is probably going to teach knitting. I’ve seen talks on web design, startup decision making, Futurists, GTD…
Show up with a short presentation, an open mind, and a beer / coffee stein and you’ll be all set!
