Thanks Jed. I wasn't trying to point out my own awesomeness, however, it's a fact I won't deny. ;)

In case you're interested in cataloging awesomeness with me, feel free to join the Facebook event: The Search for Awesomeness. I needed a way to make a good list of awesome stuff, so you can feel free to participate there by adding links, photos, videos, etc of awesome things there.

Thanks again Jed. I must return the favor though. PEVZ to you for being one of the awesomest people I know.

I think what you did at the Starbucks was awesome. So simple too!

I think creating things is awesome. It might be the most awesome thing out there—that is, the human mind's capacity to create. Tolkien believed that the human penchant for creativity and invention is evidence that we're created in god's (the creator's) image.

Which is to say that I think Nate's awesome. Such a creative mind is truly awesome!

(sorry I couldn't go to Starbucks yesterday)

Hi Nate

The company (I mentioned it somehwere else on your site) is http://www.adhese.com/ - they even have an "enchante" program for blog sponsorship.

It's a company from Belgium - but since their content is right available in English, it might be worth the mail.

Tom,

Thank you for your very detailed reply. I love people like you who take time to compose a message. Wonderful! Thank you!

And thank you for mentioning what you find awesome in your world. That's some very compelling stuff you've mentioned. I use much of it myself as well, and I probably take it for granted most days out of the week.

In particular, I'm curious about that Belgium company. As you can see (near the top of the page), I'm looking for a sponsor and that price is right up my alley. Do they do U.S. based or English blogs?

It's indeed hard to find "awesomeness" in life. Most people are living in their own world, their own relatively safe cage. These days most people in apartment buildings don't even know their neighbours or at least not as you'd do if you lived in a street community.

Helping out that older man in his cart was definately a gentle move to the say the least. More people should re-think the opportunities they had in life to help other people out and question themselves if they did everything that was possible to make the best of it, in helping the other person(s).

I work for an advertising agency. I think it's awesome to finish a project and then read all about it on blogs. Gives you an instant boost to go even further, beyond your original expectations. Ofcourse, this is not for all of us so I doubt it'll make your "awesomeness" list.

Other things in life that are awesome? The internet. Think about it. I want a house, I can find it on the net. I want food? I search for restaurants, etc. How would life be for us without Google? I'm using a wide range of their tools (Gmail, Calendar, adsense, analytics, etc.) Google makes basic tasks simple, shareable. I think that's the biggest revolution. Not web 2.0 - just the fact that you can share whatever you want to, whenever you want to.

Gadgets - in the past, you had to call your friend (and memorize the phone number!) - if he wasn't home, you'd talk to him/her later on. Now you make use of voicemail, text messaging - or I can sent him/her even email from my iPhone. How awesome is that? I can read my blog comments (as RSS feed) on my phone when I'm on my way to work, browse the web, etc. I used to call a specialized service company to find restaurants in my close environment. Now I just use Safari on my phone.

All this matter really makes me think of what the future would bring us. I was amazed by the touch technology ("touch screen") but what will the near future bring us?

As for affiliate programs - I think adSense is a good program but ofcourse, only if you get enough views. In Belgium there's a company that searches for targeted sponsoring for your blog, website, etc. The downside is that you don't always get advetisement on your website (since the client decides on which blog / website they want to appear) but when they come to an agreement, the payment is a minimum of $50 / week per advertisment (to a max. of 5)
