I will of course be myself. I certainly don't want to become some goofy teenager (again). Been there, done that. Hated it.
But, I'm hoping a more entertaining method of talking about the same things will not only make my writing more appealing, but help me to lighten up a bit (in life) at the same time.
I'm hoping it will show a different side of me that already exists. Ask my wife and my friends. The entertaining side of me comes out when you're with me, so if you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. ;) Hopefully, I can work some of that fun into this blog. That's the goal.
Thanks again.
Cheers!

Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate your feedback. I will of course be myself. I certainly don’t want to become some goofy teenager (again). By all means, Nate, be yourself - whatever that happens to be - serious, casual, experimental - whatever, man, because your readers appreciate your blog for you - for your voice - even if 100% of the topics aren't perfectly aligned with our interests.
As for experimenting with your writing style, I say go for it. I, for one, will continue to read even if you begin writing like some goofy teenager.
"Less crotchety" is great, just remember that there is a fine line between "casual writing" and "losing your credibility".

Well, I can’t speak for Buddy Boy, but I read your blog because I enjoy your laid-back, intelligent writing style.

By all means, Nate, be yourself – whatever that happens to be – serious, casual, experimental – whatever, man, because your readers appreciate your blog for you – for your voice – even if 100% of the topics aren’t perfectly aligned with our interests.

As for experimenting with your writing style, I say go for it. I've written well in the past, when I was having more fun in life. Right now, it's a time when I continually look to the future and then freak out about it. That's kinda depressing, so more than changing my writing style, I'm hoping to change my attitude in the same moment.
Buddy Boy, thanks for the kind words of critique. I know I've been doing that a lot lately, but believe me it wasn't intended to be irritating. It was intended to be informational to those who are also trying to make money using websites. Some people have found that stuff as good info. Others, like yourself probably, find it annoying.
I'm going to try to strike a balance between information and trying to be a little less... i dunno... lame. The natural thing that will happen I think will be that I will probably talk less about what you mentioned. But, no guarantees.
I appreciate the thought though. I'm curious.... why do you read my blog? What posts do you like? What positive reinforcement can I get from ya?

Michael, thank you. It certainly won’t be… um…. not me. Just don't try to be something you weren't meant to be. The world needs all kinds of writers, funny, serious, whatever. I have found that just being me works best for me. When I try to be like someone else, it seldom works. But you have to follow your dreams. Good luck.

Good luck with your metamorphosis.
