I travel constantly for work from February until November and update a googlemap on my blog manually when I stop somewhere. With this, I could even post updates while in transit using the new(ish) brightkite iPhone interface.
Nice work!

I have been looking/waiting/hoping for something like this. You have to tell it the context you're in? That won't work for me while I'm on the road, especially as we don't have a plan. Did I miss something there?

Cody, unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t detect a latitude/longitude right? I'd like to have it update my BrightKite account and I've talked to the developers - now we just need to wait and see if it gets coded. Sadly, I do not code.

I don’t have an iPhone, but I do carry my MacBook w/ me where ever I go. I have 15 days before I'll be killing for a solution, so I am working on it often right now.

Oh don’t worry, I’ll post whatever solutions I use to get my iPhone to do what I want. Post when you figure out how your iPhone can push your local info out and auto update.
I wonder if we can hack a Crackberry to get this function to work as well.

Thanks for the reminder about that. I'll take a look at that again.

Yea, I did see that, but haven’t had time to dig through Erica’s code yet to find how it was done.

Thanks for the reminder about that. http://www.tuaw.com/2008/02/21/tuaw-responds-iphone-lojack/3
This almost fits what you're talking about - I knew using a scheduled occurrence (cron ?) was the thing to do, i just didn't know if the iphone was capable.
<blockquote>If you're traveling across the country, change your start interval to 15 minutes or a half hour and use a public Twitter account. (Remember to reboot after making changes to the Launch Daemon). Your friends will be able to track your progress using the Google Maps URL that's tinyURL'ed into each tweet.</blockquote>
Similar idea, right? I'm still working on getting an iphone, so I can't test it out..

Have you seen the updated version of “FindMe” ?

<a
