Thanks to Mark Edwards of Simpler Computing, there has been a long-awaited upgrade to the Duh Gallery (the wordpress photo gallery plugin).
Mark was kind enough to make the following changes:
- changed code structure to be a bit simpler
- removed class wrapper
- removed the use of do_action to speed up processing
- added detection of ‘upload_dir’ from the Wordpress database, and if it’s not set some can edit this code
- to define the exact dir if they want to
- added a page template, “duh_gallery_template.php”
- Note: To create a new page that uses the template, create a new page and set its Page Template to use duh_galler_template.
Demo: Here’s a working demo of the Duh Gallery
Original Release: Here’s the Original Release Page for the WP photo plugin.
Download: Here’s the Download page for the most recent revision.

On December 2nd I had a problem with sleeping. Those problems usually end up in crazy wild projects that run through my mind until I find some way of dismissing it or doing it. That particular night turned a few hours into a viable, awesome project called 50 photos.
The idea behind the 50 [...]

I just found ShareAPic which is a twist to the old Photobucket standby (”we’ll host your photos for free”.. cough.. and take ad revenue from your content). ShareAPic gives you the ability to create photo galleries and the like, similar to other photo sharing places, but they will pay you something like 22 cents [...]

As a side note, SignOnSanDiego just quoted me with a photo too, over here.
I took my MacBook with the integrated iSight around and took pictures of the folks in line who are ditching their current provider and/or phone for the iPhone.
The results can be found on my Flickr account.
Here’s a preview:

This one is of my wife, Teresa, and our nephew Zac on his first birthday. We went to Cali to visit right about when he started walking around.

I really don’t like people who try to steal my cars, so I tracked down this video surveillance of our condo property. If you’re in Bellingham and know who these jokers are, I’d love to know. Even if you think you know, feel free to drop me a line and I’ll do my own checking up on them. I have my ways.
Bloggers unite! Let’s catch these bastards.

Granted, Honda’s are one of, if not the, top cars stolen. This morning, my wife went down to our “secured” parking garage to find the ignition completely stripped. (Un)fortunately, the brute-force wannabe-thief didn’t get to steal the car because apparently he/she hasn’t read the local crime manual about stealing Hondas. I’m [...]
