Google Maps

Hooplah! All the rage recently is making your own set of Google Maps applicable to something cool. Well, I have a prototype finished of Perfect Space mashed up with to get something neato freato.

I am talking with some real estate agents about putting some MLS data in with it, so it will be a combo of the NWMLS, Bellingham MLS, and Perfect Space, all on one set of maps. It’s the local version of

I’m also thinking of mapping all the wi-fi hotspots (ie, “war driving”) around Bellingham and then providing a kind of “wiki” to let others edit those hotspots as they see them change. I know this stuff exists to a certain degree elsewhere, but since google maps is so hot right now, I figured using their tech would be kinda fun and interesting to see if I could get some of the traction that got. Well, it’s worth a shot.

Oh, and I’ll release the maps shortly.. after I get some MLS data and other stuff tweaked to look nice. No worries. It’ll be here soon.
