PlaceSite: Communion Among Coffee Drinkers

PlaceSite I was just reading about PlaceSite, which will be offering a virtual connection point at coffee shops and the like when you log on. It’s going to be set up for a Linksys WRT54G router.

Why is this interesting? Well, because if you expand the idea beyond coffee shops and cafe’s, you could get into apartment housing, local meeting places like city parks, etc. Personally, since I have a 54G, I think I might set one up for my neighbors in our new condos. It might be an easy way to get to know the people around you and start a conversation without having to be in the elevator at the same time.
