Is Best Buy Holding Out On Us?

Still dying to get your hands on an Xbox 360? Don’t bother calling Best Buy until December 18. And even then, you might want to line up early. An apparently leaked insider newsletter suggests the company has been stockpiling the consoles for release in conjunction with its December 18 sale flyer, just in time for the holidays.

It’s really not remotely surprising that nation’s largest electronics retailer has consoles in stock, just as it’s no great shock that Best Buy is manipulating consumer demand. We’ve theorized aloud for months that Microsoft would actually produce plenty of the consoles and simply hold the majority in reserve until just before Christmas. Now it looks like we have a little more fuel for our theory, as Best Buy appears to be doing much the same thing.
