Om Malik Hating XML Aggregation

I’ve read some things that get people ticked off pretty quickly. I guess I never thought my blog would be one of them (indirectly). Unfortunately, Om and others don’t really like aggregation of blogs (like this one does right now).

These people talk about blog aggregation as if it’s killing them. I honestly didn’t have the motivation of stealing advertising money from them. I just wanted a way to aggregate a few blogs that I liked (other than a desktop RSS aggregator). I even give credit to them, and explicitly declare that the content is theirs (via links to the authors).

But, I’m wondering if it’s not such a good idea (whether it’s gone through legislation yet or not) to aggregate a blog feed that’s ©.

What do you think?
