USPS is cool

USPS Who would have thought that I, of all people, would think a semi-governmental organization is actually cool? Not me.

Today changed my perception. I knew they were getting pretty crazy with internet tools and whatnot, but I didn’t realize they had a set of API’s for use.

No more downloading zip code databases. No more worries whether or not those databases are current or not. Just use the USPS Zip Code API. Simple, sweet RESTfull APIs. Mmmmm. Delicious.

More on the service I’m building later. Sorry that I didn’t preview it earlier, but the thought came to me at about 1am last night. It’s gonna be small and simple, but hopefully have some long lasting effects.
